September 2, 2026 BARS Meeting – Anthony Luscre, K8ZT, “Ham Radio Maps and Charts”

Join us Wednesday, September 2 at 7:00 PM for a presentation on “Ham Radio Maps and Charts” from returning guest speaker Anthony Luscre, K8ZT.

Anthony is a long-time amateur radio operator and educator from near Akron, Ohio, with a career spanning over four decades in the hobby. First licensed in 1981 as KA8NRC, he upgraded to Amateur Extra in 2000 and changed his callsign to K8ZT. He is renowned as a QRP (low-power) operator, having started with a 2-watt rig and now boasting over 115,000 QRP contacts and a DXCC total exceeding 328, with multiple first-place finishes in CQ Worldwide Phone and CW QRP categories.

Beyond contesting, Anthony is active in DXing, rag chewing, and satellite operations, and shares his expertise widely through club presentations, webinars, and publications, including his website k8zt.com and a column for CQ Magazine. He serves as ARRL Ohio Section Youth Coordinator and has presented over 500 sessions since 2020, including appearances at Contest University and the Dayton Hamvention. In retirement, he volunteers as a Trainman on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and remains active in amateur radio education and youth outreach.


After the meeting, the recording and any shared content made available to BARS will be added to this post. The meeting will be in-person, at the Chelmsford Bible Church, 128 Gorham St, Chelmsford, MA, and online via Zoom.
