March 5, 2025 BARS Meeting – Jay Taft, K1EHZ, Presents an Overview of the Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN)

I am pleased to announce that our Guest Speaker for our March 5th hybrid Club Meeting will be Jay Taft, K1EHZ.

Jay is the President of the Merrimack Valley Amateur Radio Association located in Auburn NH. He has been actively promoting the use of AREDN, the “Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network”, between Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. He will present an overview of the system which is an independent internet network mainly comprised of RF nodes. It does connect to the internet for redundancy and training purposes. He will join us during our regular March 5th club meeting, which can be attended in person at the Chelmsford Bible Church, 128 Gorham Street in Chelmsford, or online via Zoom at 7:00. Please join us and learn more about this exciting project.

Presentation slides may be downloaded or viewed via this link.

As always, the link to join the Zoom meeting will be posted to the BARS email list and should not be shared outside our Club.
Are you on the email list? If not, subscribing is as easy as emailing bars-subscribe@w1hh.org and then replying to the robot response to confirm your subscription.
