Our Guest speaker and Topic:
Bo Budinger, WA1QYM, will talk about “DXing with a Dipole”. Bo presents a talk that fits well with our BARS “Get-on-the-air” project. Bo has put together a very informative talk on how to work DX with simple dipole antennas. Yes, you can work your share of DX without resorting to large towers and arrays. Antenna building is one of ham radio fundamental skills and its a lot of fun too! This talk is very helpful to the ham who is new to HF radio, but even seasoned hams know dipoles are almost like magic. Put em up and reel in the DX!

Elections

First, we will take a few minutes to run our annual club election. We are again fortunate to have Bo, WA1QYM in attendance because Bo is well known to most clubs in Eastern Massachusetts as the ARRL Affiliated Club Coordinator (ACC). Who better to be present during a club election.

Nominations are open for all positions (except Emeritus). BARS is looking to build a team approach rather than putting full responsibility on one President. The concept is to develop a team method of administrating the club as a cooperative effort with help from experienced officers.

Here is the list of nominees thus far:
– President: No Candidate – Please Nominate
– Vice President: No Candidate – Please Nominate
– Secretary: Paul, K1YUB
– Treasurer: Bruce, W1LUS
– Board Member: Andy, KA1GTT
– Board Member: Tom, K1TW
– Emeritus: Mike, K1TWF
