1 Future meeting locations:
At present the club does not have a location for either the VE sessions or the regular meeting. Potential locations were discussed. One is a church in Chelmsford. K1TW, K1TWF and N1ALO were going to check on the first one after the meeting.

The VE sessions for July and August have been cancelled. At present, pending finding another location, the September member meeting will be held at the home of K1TWF. The implementation of $10 dues will go into effect in September.

In light of the problems in a acquiring a meeting location, options for club meetings were discussed. Among them included, meeting only quarterly in a restaurant for breakfast.

Also discussed was the need for a new slate of officers for the coming year. At the present time it does not appear that any of the existing officers will be seeking reelection.

Generating new members was discussed. Among the ideas brought up were holding a picnic but there was not much support. The major outcome of the meeting was that the club should adopt a project of getting more people on the air. One area which might prove successful is to engage the many area techs that have obtained their license and may have purchased a hand held but are not presently active. N1ALO proposed that the club initiate a project called “Getting on the Air” with the start of a net on a local repeater. Those present thought this was a good idea and should be the focus of the club – getting people to go on the air more frequently and especially reaching out to the newer hams with 2 meter capabilities but who are not presently on the air or even inactive. Hence the Board will propose a Project at the member meeting and look for support from the general membership.

The Get on the air Project will encourage greater operating on the air by present members along with outreach reaching out to the many new licensees who have a license (and maybe a 2 meter radio) but are not presently active. A first step could be establishing a 2 meter net open to all hams which will be run on a particular date and time each month.

A question about the most efficient way to contact our target audience has not been resolved.

The meeting adjourned at around 1930.
